OCTOBER

October represents the time of think and evaluate for the Axe, the purification.

Oxalá in this month makes us attentive to necessity of calm, attention towards the spirituality and exercise of our own decision.

We will tell one of the myth which explain very well this theme:

“Oxalufâ, king of Ifan, decided visited Xangô, king of Oyo, his friend. Before his trip, Oxalufâ conferred his babalao and precaution that the travel should not happen, because it would have a catastrophic ending. However, as Oxalufâ was obstinate, persisted in his projected, as: the travel would be difficult, he would suffer and he was recommended if he did not want to lose his life, he shouldn’t refuse or complain anymore to make what she was asked to do or make. He should also take three white clothes to dress and soap.

Oxalufã was in his path, as he was supposedly old, he walked slowly .He met exú, he was sitting on the road with a container of dende oil near him. After they change compliments, Exú asked to help him to put the container on his head. Exú pour a little bite of oil over Oxalufâ and mocked of him. Oxalufã did not say anything keeping the instruction of premonition game. Clean himself up in the water of the river, and put these old clothes away as an offer and dress up with new clothes.

Oxalufâ kept walking with effort and he was also victim of two other Exú’s trap. He had clean himself and to wear his last pair of white clothes. He mainted calm and finally arrived in Oyó kingdom. There, he found a horse form Xangô kingdom. At the moment that Oxalufâ was trying to feed the animal with corn and domesticated it with the intention to send to Xangô. He was interpellator by the Xangô guard keeper as he was robber. He was sent to the prison, and he was incarcerated in the castle.

Seven year later, a tragedy happens in Xangô kingdom: epidermis, women got sterile.

Xangô consulted a babalao, and he understood that the raison of this tragedy was because of unfair prison of old man. After a long research, Oxalâ was taken to Xangô, and in despair about what was happening in his kingdom, asked observation.

All this follows to dress in white clothes and keep silence as a respect signal. After that, Oxalufâ went back to Ifan, passing by Ejigbo with the intention to visit his son Oxaguia that was very happy to see his father. Oxaguia organized a big party and distributed food to all participants.

This demonstrates that, although recommended by the oracle, Oxalá had his own decision and even knowing what would happen, he suffer a lot.however as we all know the virtue always are over the mistakes, there was a purification over all people.

The spirituals designation, the odus tell us that we need to respect and understand the written signification in order to comprehend the written. Otherwise we would thing that the happens would be bad luck or abandoned.

To understand the limit of our impulse and understand the new announce and more than anything to, to eliminate the mistakes and forgive, these make part of our learning in the Earth.

Oxalá water makes us think about that contravening us to our ambition, egoism, intransigency, and make us to be patient, respectful, forgiveness and evaluate position in the Universe of God.
